The Montpelier Estate is a secluded, luxurious residential enclave nestled below the landmark sandstone edifice of St Patrick’s Seminary on Sydney Harbour’s North Head. The final release of new homes designed by Tony Caro Architecture will bring a distinctive design aesthetic to this outstanding environment.
The homes have been created to capture the sites wonderful micro-climate, with a variety of courtyards, terraces and decks designed within each dwelling to take advantage of each season and its characteristic weather patterns.
The architecture expresses a central conceptual idea that each dwelling is an open, flexible canvas for its occupants to create a tailored living environment in tune with their individual aspirations and engaged with the extraordinary coastal setting of the site.
The dwellings are related to each other by a consistently calm, under-stated architectural language, but imbued with individual expression through singular compositions of materials, texture, colour and architectural detail.
