This project was a finalist in a competition intended to unite and connect two distinct campuses, long separated by a major city arterial road. Resiting the design opportunity of a bridge, a gently graded sub-road connection was proposed that allowed unassisted access between the two parts for non-ambulate users and a more direct connection for everybody. Other routes were infiltrated through the extant built form. A ramparted connection to the eastern park lands was proposed, and a subtle re-grading of the lawns in front of Blackett’s Quadrangle Building to allow greater utility in this awkward space.

The university tradtion of chalked communication on the bitumen was proposed to be formalised into a unified thread across the entire east to west promenade.
